BYC Café

Good morning everyone. Yummy coffee. We have gotten rain finally! It is a nice slow soaking rain. Rained all day yesterday and it looks like it intends to continue raining today. 2 inches so far :D we really needed it. Calves got out this morning. Acres and acres of knee high prairie grass to chew on and they decide my yard looks tasty. :( At least I do not have too much growing in the garden yet. A couple years ago they walked past haybales and tall grass green grass just to eat my strawberry plants. Ate the whole plant roots and all. :barnie
Sorry they are grazing on your yard, but I love the pic!
Well out of all the places to choose...because we are building right there, and last year we lost a tree there, I have not yet worked up the gumption to mow it. If I though they would stay there, I would deal with the fertilizer ;) and let them have it...but they wouldn't stay there, and I do not want to deal with that much fertilizer.
ya'll breed them funny in Nebraska.......lol just about any kind of fence is just a suggestion to cows........ true story......growing up, we never had any bulls, but every year, we sold and butchered calves from our cows........ but now that I think on it.......there were sure lots of splices in our fence line.....
:lau Brilliant!

My daddy always said, you can't choose your relatives, or your neighbors Bulls.

:D saddly yes. That is why, despite having pure black cattle and bulls, we have re and white calves along with our black ones. It wouldn't be so bad if not being black did not drop the price of the calves so badly :(
We have a neighbor who keeps 20 some bulls on a dead pasture amost all year and then on cornfield over winter. They are constantly out. He is going to pay for it this year, they got into the small graveyard near here and knocked down a dozen tombstones :) Karma
