BYC Café

Good morning Cafe! Thanks for the coffee DL!

It's slightly overcast here with the threat of snow squalls on the horizon. Pretty cold and crisp out.

Here's a few more photos from my trip down south:

1. A squid that unfortunately jumped aboard the ship during the night and we found him/her in the morning.

2. Our vessel, Balaena - she's my supervisor's and will be heading back though the Panama and up to Canada this May to do work up here in the summer.

3. Storm clouds over San Cristóbal Island, where I spent just over 24hrs during my very short "vacation" after our time at sea.

4. A boardwalk full of marine iguanas and sea lions at Puerto Baquerizo Moreno (the main port on San Cristóbal).

5. Kicker Rock, a location that we did some deep water snorkelling - also a wonderful place to see lots of sharks (which are completely harmless, btw).

6. Marine iguanas basking in the sun on the boardwalk at Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, San Cristóbal.

And that crab. Don't forget the crab...
How do sea lions make snoozing on rocks looks so comfortable?
Oh no, you can’t forget the Sally Lightfoot crabs - they’re everywhere there 😂

And I don’t know about those sea lions… it’s definitely not as comfortable as they make it look 😂
