Woke to cooler temps and nice thunderstorm in the very early hours. Ahhh.
It, and I, was still hot and sweaty at 11 when I went to bed.
Cooler temps forecast day and night for most of the next 10 days.

Had a fawn curled up in the long grass next to the yard fence not 20' from garage doors.
It didn't move when I clapped and yelled out the window, thought it might be dead so immediately started thinking about how hard it would be to move the corpse to the 'body buffet' in the woods.
Then saw the run drain was plugged, under-run partially flooded and garage apron wet up to doors.
Finished chook chores and went to check the fawn, it's head was up and it scrambled away when I approached, and the garage was not flooded or even wetted.

Hope the rest of the day goes a well.

Trip to the Farmers Market a bit of a disappointment.
The beautiful photo of hard necked garlic they posted was false.
But I forgot about apple squares, home made with a lard pastry...delicious!
...and I got to pet a beautiful 5mo Bernese puppy!
Then the Dollar Store had all my favorite snacks, and the Grocery had deli fried chicken ready to go which along with some coleslaw was like icing on the cake!

I called the local humane society where I have applied to get Piper spayed. I applied in the middle of April. I was told I would be called next April for her spay appointment! Holy crap!! They have a huge backlog of dogs but they're no longer accepting female dogs because obviously their surgeries take longer than the males. So Piper will be going through another heat cycle. Thank goodness I kept her diapers. And if I don't get scheduled in early April, she may go into her third heat the following May.
No regular vet to do the deed?
