BYC Café

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

It is a brilliant 49 degrees out! Feels wonderful!
C spent his first night here last night. We started watching Good Omens together. He liked the first episode. It's hilarious. I've watched it twice.
I warned him of my early bird nature. And he said he'd try to be quiet in his room after I went to bed. I never heard him. Piper did.
I know he was still up at 12:45 when I got up to get a drink of water. I got up for the day at 4:45 and commenced baking a frittata. The kid has to eat! He's still sleeping...

Got another broody...SMH...of course she'd go at the start of a 4 day upper 80's heat wave.
At least it will cool at night.
My broody is on her first and last clutch. Another 2 eggs are missing from the nest and I found her in a nest box on lock up last night!! I have no idea if the 2 remaining eggs are alive. I don't know who is causing the commotion that is destroying the eggs. I suspect Jody.
She is now locked in the ward with food and water. I've never had such issues with broodies. I probably shouldn't have let them all hatch in such close succession.
And Tink thinks she's next up on deck. She'll have to go into the clink tonight.

I haven't let a broody hatch for 2-3 years, but when I did they went into the coop partition where no other birds could bother them.
