[Ladies-Eight]

Good morning and thanks for the coffee! I think it started out around 46F this morning and it feels like fall. DH and I cleaned up the last of the chipping for one neighbor. She got some hardwood delivered, "Cheap!", and it looks like a little over half of what she ordered. She said that he said he would come back and bring what was shorted...., we will see. The wood looks nice, though.
I am glad things are going well, DL! It is nice to have someone who knows the routine to take care of the critters when on vacation. It makes it more of a vacation!
Today is Shopping day for my old ranch friend (MORF) and chicken feed for sure.
My food sealer came yesterday and I can't wait to start trying it out on these 15 dozen eggs sitting here. Actually 13 doz because MORF is getting 2 whether he wants them or not. Eggs are good for him!

Off to run the dogs on this foggy morning.

I took Kylie off the nest this morning after having been locked in the ward for 3 days. Down to a single egg! She's the worst broody ever... There have been no fights causing the damage. She's a huge hen and I think she is crushing them. I don't even know if that last egg is viable as she had gone back to the wrong nest about 6 days ago and the eggs were cool when I discovered it. I'll give it until Tuesday, day 21, to see if it hatches.
Never again Kylie. Never again.

Good morning! Low of 44F last night so the hot coffee is appreciated.
I survived the shopping trip. People give me weird looks when I am herding DH and MORF in the right direction or they start squabbling or just goofing around like boys will do. Yesterday, it was riding on the cart of chicken feed being driven poorly by DH. Thanks goodness the TSC crew was good natured and actually having fun with them. No items or people were injured in the fiasco. LOL!
I had to buy candy, too.
DH has a smart phone now... Oh the questions I have answered multiple times..... but now he feels much better about driving to IL in the fall to meet his brother. Next, is a full size spare tire.
I think some very grounding wood-splitting is in order for the day in prep for Monday's Driver License place with MORF. He can't decipher accents so I get to go with and also the fact that he doesn't drive, which leads to the question of "why are you renewing your license?" But I get it, just in case and loss of independence is rough and he is honest with himself about not being a very good driver anymore, and I was a Rally Car Driver in a past life!

Looks like the latest heat wave is over, cooler today and mostly cloudy.

Latest broody appears to be broken, went to roost last night after 3 days in crate.

Eggs are slowing down, might be time to stop selling any and saving them for myself.
Much different the last couple years with no 'spring chickens' on board.
