Afternoon all!! Hope everyone is having a MAGNIFICIANT MONDAY. Right now it's 90 here but with the HEAT INDEX it feels closer to 100

Thankfully you VA residents kindly dropped the temps for DD1's wedding 2 Saturdays ago!!

Yesterday, I found evidence of 2 broken and maybe eaten eggs. There was goo in the nest, and 2 empty shells: one in the run and one on the coop floor.

I was assuming the worst, but maybe... they got knocked around while the girls were laying, and broke...? I did not see any egg yolk/goo on anyone's beak or face.

Get a game camera out there, you probably have an egg eater. I have one, she will intentionally break an egg open to eat the contents, then leave the shell. She is now in her private coop. She still eats the eggs she lays, and eventually the shell.

The rest of the girls don't even eat eggs in the nest that were cracked due to thin shells. But if I throw it in the run the gobble it up.

Last weekend we was told about "Stock the Bar" party, anyone else heard about that or attended one? What's your opinion?

Never heard of it but I would be concerned I'd be storing a lot of other people's favorite alcohol forever that I don't care for. We don't actually drink hard liquor very often.

The trees are still up. He wasn't able to make it yesterday because of storm cleanup in Sayre yesterday.

Dang, I was looking forward to the videos. I know some here are hoping for a look at the logger. I am hoping I can learn his technique for handling widowmakers. I seem to end up with them often.

Well, you're welcome. In what part of VA was the wedding? Northern, Southern. Western, Eastern or the central part. Congratulations to DD1 Best Wishes What kind of theme was it? Was it inside, outside? The days are creeping closer and closer towards Autumn (FALL) so now the weather is being a little more sensible.

~70 miles NNE from you as the crow flies, it was at their house 10 minutes NE of Lake Anna in Partlow. Actually the ceremony was at the neighbor's at the end of the shared driveway; he is setting up a "venue" and let them use it free. About 2 acres of lawn and trees heading down to a pond (about 1 acre). He built a large deck in front of the pond.

The reception was at their house. We spent a good bit of Thursday building the base for a 20x20 dance floor. Friday we strung twelve 100' wires and extension cords to connect Amazon Echo speakers hung on the frame of the "tent" to the volume controller thingies (I know, that is a bit scientific, sorry) at the DJ's table. Wedding Saturday at 5:30. Can't say if there was a "theme".

Everything you need for a BIG OLD cup of morning Joe is by the coffee pot so make a cup then head to patio and enjoy the 71 degree weather and sunrise. I'm about to get my 2nd cup then after a little bit start the baking (cupcakes and sheet pan CHOC CHIP COOKIES) I need to get done for tomorrow. Hoping a few other guests will bring a dessert dish also.
