Yes, they are. I have filled a dozen count carton from them!

I thought it was ridiculous of me when I looked into the nest box after clearing them of molters and thinking to myself "what in the heck is THAT?"
I have chickens and was shocked to see eggs. :lol:

Well, it certainly is unusual, but what a nice surprise!
Was this their first annual molt?
 
Just blows my mind that hens would come back into lay during the darkest days of the year.
One of my most senior hens (4 yo next March) is laying. Another has a red, plump comb.

Of my second batch (3 yo next June), one looks like she'll be back to work soon. She had the worst molt of any of my birds. The other of that batch, my serial broody, will be the last to get back to work. She stopped last August to be broody, and then to do a slow molt. Her comb is pale and shrunken still.
