We basically put a stop to 'us'. He has too much to deal with involving his divorce, kids and himself and can't commit to anything and that is not something that is any good for me.
Maybe in the future. Maybe not.
I'm still going to have him finish up the poplars and dig out the moat this spring but that's it.

Aww, too bad....but probably for the better in the long run.

I like Just an Acre. It starts with a J and it's relevant to your farm size.

I was hoping for someone to bring you some happiness. You certainly deserve it.

But what about JUST BEING FRIENDS and hanging out, drinking coffee maybe somewhere public (if ex wife ever asks him about the "meeting at SO SO with a female" he could always tell her YOU ARE A CLIENT.
By the sounds of it you both are interested in each other and being friends before getting into a relationship always helps the relationships "building stones".

I prefer it this way. I want a real relationship that we both have the time and energy to put the effort in to growing into something long lasting. I'm really not in a position to do that either. I'd rather wait and see what happens, if anything, down the road when we both have navigated our issues and are in calmer waters.

I think waiting for calmer waters sounds like a good plan. I’m not sure where things are with DH, but that’s a lot to mange right there.
