No one thought the sequoia would make it through the winter....but we had 36 below last winter and the tree did fine.....I have a Sitka spruce from Alaska I'm worried though because I just planted it in the spring...it hasn't gone through a winter yet.

put some of those netted Christmas lights over it. (not the LED ones) They will give just a bit of heat. but allow it to endure the elements.

Three feet of snow would help.....it's pretty tiny right now.....maybe a foot tall. Actually they make Styrofoam cones that would work.

I was not stationed at K. I., I was living in Rock with the new wife's family, looking for a good job. Moved there from CA in '78 and moved to troll country in 83.

Good morning everyone. Thing 1 came down with a nasty head cold yesterday, and of course we were out of town and in an hotel :/ But we drove home last night, she slept much better in her own bed. So I am very tired, but think we are just going to hole up here and not leave the house. I am sure it is only a matter of time before thing 2 gets it.

My son seemed to always be sick over Thanksgiving and another something over Christmas.
It never seemed to be fair.
He'd always manage to get those legos put together though...

I hope she feels better soon and thing 2 stays healthy, and you also.
I always got what he go-t because a sick kid needs to be cuddled and cared for.
