Ahhh, I made the assumption that the word 'dive' implied water, not the 3 G drop test.

well it dove from a great distance, and someone forgot to fill the pool.........lol..

actually, fell from my pocket, getting out of truck in the parking lot, and in trying to catch it, I may have caused additional acceleration, swatting it into the side of the curb, causing the phone to break and then ricochet down onto the concrete, adding more damage.

Somehow, I think playing racquetphone exceeds the manufacturer's warranty, though our resident geek tells me there are covers that offer some protection in events like that.

Odd how quickly we become grafted to our little electronic devices, isn't it? I can certainly remember times B.C. (before cellphones) and have only had a smart phone for a few months, but already I almost go into withdrawal when my battery dies . . . .

no, ma'am, they won't.

but I am do an upgrade. I was still on the iPhone 4.

and believe it or not, prior to this, with no cover, there isn't one scratch on the screen, and there were minimal scratches on the edges or back.

not many scratches now, either.........but there are many pieces......

I have...

I have seen what falling of the hood of a vehicles, at 70 mph will do to it. and it was in an otter box.

the wife, while putting kids int he car, prior to leaving the house did just that. as she hit the highway, noticed her phone was not in the cup holder of center console. started to peek around the interior of car, hit a small bump in the highway, and there it went. bounced up in her field of vision, and then WHOOOOSSSSHHHH!!!! onto the asphalt.

it was pretty ugly.
