BYC Café

truly, my wife would probably be okay with going all organic, as far as growing and raising animals.......

but then I get involved, and I don't have the time or patience for it.......lol....

Good morning all!! Thanks for the coffee in the variety of mugs. I think I got through
3 reading along this morning...then there were the donuts! We won't talk about how many of those I had.
Yes, life has been in the way the last two weeks but I've kept up reading along here. Been cooking for HUGE groups. 225-425 people at a time! Lots of dietary issue people too. Here's the break down of people I have to cook "special" for:

Gluten Free
Dairy Free
Soy Free
Variations of the above mixed
Vegetarian
PKU (no protein)
Nut Free
Vegan
Pescatarian (like vegetarian but eats fish)
No pork eater
Peanut Free (different than nut free)
Nightshade Free

After two weeks if this I want to run screaming into the woods!! Instead I go hang out with my kids and chickens.

Welcome to the dark side :) Just don't drink the koolaide :D

Especially if the guy pouring it is named Jim.....

Just depends on how you decide to combat weeds and pests, and how you fertilize, etc.,,,,

I use a little miracle grow on my seedlings when they are in the house. Other than that nothing in the garden no "cides" of any kind.
Just manure, and "organic" straw for mulch. Although I must admit I'm trusting it to be organic straw I didn't grow it myself. I don't have any big problems here. Cut worms and slugs both which are easy to deal with.
