yeah, I took those same panels and moved them to the mini walls........I'll also be able to add more coop/runs, and allow them to share the outside mini wall with the coop/run adjacent.

I need to come up with a good design for the nesting boxes, so they are outside the end of the coop/run.......so when we check eggs, we don't have to go in the pen. Only when we feed and water, and I'm working on that too......

I take it that you don't have to worry about snow/sleet building up between the coops?

no.........we get snow about once every ten years.......and once in 20 it may actually stick.

we may once a year get below freezing temps. I think this winter, we have not had freezing temps yet.

If I lived in a different climate, I would be rethinking this......lol

Mornin' guys! Mmmmm, that coffee smells good . . . .

Frosty morning here; heading for sunny and 50's. Nice to wrap my hands around a warm mug.

That pony wall between the hoops not unlike a very common greenhouse design. I'm not sure how often snow brings one of those houses down; someone we know in Jacksonville had a single-bay house collapse under a snow load a number of years ago.

I built a hoop greenhouse, but used pvc pipe for the main frame. I just don't think it would be practical for chickens, because of having something to attach the chicken wire to. the greenhouse didn't get sturdy, until the plastic was put on it.

Good Morning! Thanks for the coffee. Just about all the snow finally melted yesterday! It is wet out there but already 46 and should be another great day outdoors.
If it were dryer I could get to work on building, but everything is too stuck in mud.

Thanks, Berts.

Getting a railing installed on the cellar steps so that the old folks don't fall. Princess fell several years ago, and I was a suspect until I showed the cops and EMTs my 24 hour old hernia incision.

Thought you got that done a while back? Or maybe that was just the quotes for getting it done. Gotta keep Princess safe, so I hope they do a good job for you!
