Fishing is really only best at sunrise. A steaming cup of coffee in one hand and a rod in the other... ahh, life is good that way!

I figure they should be hungover and sleeping at that time, but you maybe right.

The clocks change this weekend so it would buy me an extra hour... but I also will have a sleep deprived- depraved- college student with me...
Material science is driving him nuts. He had some late nights early mornings trying to get it all done before break.
He says it isn't that hard but the labs are maddening.
something... about superballs dipped in liquid nitrogen and dropped through a tube... and measuring the shatter rate... or something... We never did cool stuff like that.

check moon phase and tide times........

I think for the surf, an incoming tide, with the moon directly under you, would be best......helps too, if you have low barometric pressure too!!


eta: if on your way to fish, you see cows in the pasture, and they are all laying down........don't bother breaking out the rods, or getting bait........just go enjoy the company and the sunrise on the beach......

The west coast up here is not that much of a coast, it is great snapper and red fish territory, but you need a boat or a friend with a boat, and we have neither.

great for specs too........and some snook.....but those may be farther south of where you are.....


can you tell, I used to be a huge fisherman........?

My neighbor was too! and went every weekend to the west coast to fish, but he moved.

So I have not had fresh fish since.

before I got married, I fished approx 60-80 times a year.......

that was just about every weekend, and then some.........
