Scott, it's marvelous to hear from you again!

I know life has a way of rearranging on us, and going with the flow can mean abrupt changes, but having you drop off the face of the forum had us all pretty worried!

And does anybody else find it ironic that the guy who started this thread apparently did just that, and his thread continues to carry on? (Hey, KingOfFools, wherever you are, I hope life is treating you well!)

But Margie, I knew you were way off base, if for no more reason than that Riegelwood is only a few miles from here. There's a pulpwood factory there, and when the wind is right, I can smell it . . . . I knew Scott lived further away than that.

Isn't Marquette a wonderful town... I've had the privilege to work there for almost thirty years.... Most people couple only hope to live and work on such a place. Growing up in the Detroit area the one thing I loved about Marquette is the pride people take in my fair city. Presque Isle is a nice gem of a city park.... Right in town. Yeah.... I've been known to do that... I want some of those little goats myself.....
Its okay haha and you should get some goats.
The Boers are really awesome, but the dairy breeds are great too. We are going to train our goats to pack and pull a cart. It should be fun! I also know a lot of you said that you didn't get why people call goats creepy and such....I don't get that either. They are so sweet and very intelligent! Mtn Margie, your bear story is great. I'm glad everyone was okay though. I love the pink hat part!
That's awesome! I think i wouls try to teach them to pack or pull a cart too or go on walks aha
Only if you're good . . . . .;)
Good morning everyone Yes I am glad everything ended up ok with the bear, it is hilarious but terrifying. I think I eiuld start keeping that gun above your bed :D You guys keep saying "people call giats creepy and stupid" I have never heard that before. The only complaints I have ever heard about goats, and it srrms a valid one, they are too smart and near impossible to keep contained. Everyone I have ever known who keeps goats have had at least one on top of their car (One of them was married to a State P, had the goat on the squad car :lau) I have heard of one person having a goat on top of their house :/
I also have never heard them called 'creepy and stupid'. Now 'smart and a PITA' - that I have heard. My excommunicated sister once had two goats that she kept on chains. Picture a family picnic, long table with lots of food, and someone turned the goats loose. Yep, they were immediately up and on that picnic table. Pretty hilarious - depending upon your point of view. :idunno
I have also never heard a goat called stupid, stinky perhaps, but not stupid.
The only thing I can think would make them "creepy" is the eyes - the long oval pupils look weird to a lot of people. Lots of herbivores have eyes like that, it's just that most also have irises that are dark enough that you don't notice.
I will never forget the first time I 'met' a buck during the rut.
At how many yards' distance?
And.........
I don't think I've heard the stupid th g now that i think about it but i have heard the escape artist thing but the eyes are exactly why my dad doesn't like them. He says the eyes are creepy. And I have heard a couple other people say that too or that they look like cats. So it's not so much the goats themselves that are creepy but the eyes make them creepy to many people

BROTHER!!!

**** bud, you've been missed. I dont' think a day has gone by, you weren't asked about!

I got all kinds of new grey hair, worrying about you!!

I even lost more hair worrying about you. Glad that all is OK - including your new responsibilities.

So, on the Scott thing,......    I am putting this out there and maybe it is, or maybe it is not......  but it is close....

I was gonna say that guy was too young...

Hi All,
I have made it back again, this old and slow 'puter is still acting older and slower then my 65 years.
I went from being a retired mild mannered Grandpa that helped DD#2 get the Grandbabies off to school on time, to the new improved mean Grandpa, who now has a part time job of getting those Grandbabies to do the right thing on time and do it right the 1st time before school and after school as well.
DD#2 had to go back to work, and I'm doing the stay at home and do the house keeping thing :barnie
I will back read the 700 or so posts that you chatter-boxs posted as soon as I can.
Missed you guys:hugs
Scott ( only 6.5 min's to do that post:he )

Welcome back friend you have been missed...... Trust me you were in my prayers ..... Phil

The weather chased me back in and get this....
there is a major snowstorm lurking in the models for Thursday-Friday, perhaps half the size of the last big one, with considerable uncertainty. More on that in a PSA tomorrow. Meanwhile, we have a decent chance for snow through the afternoon that could result in about 3-6" by early evening (will hover around freezing, so may end up as slush on most roadways). And, yes, there is third course/storm that could hit us around Sunday.
Now I am stressing on the lambs to be born. I'm gonna be out there in a frigging blizzard. I am over the last hour changes in forecast "oh by the ways,"
