BYC Café

Happy birthday to 'thing 2'. My favorite part of parties is when everyone says goodbye and goes home. Is that bad?

My birthday's the day after Christmas, and the only birthday party I ever had was held about a month later (my mom figured everybody was pretty much partied out, between Christmas and New Year's). Celebrating when people are available makes perfect sense to me. (Even if you are bringing cupcakes to your child's school so their classmates can celebrate with them, you can pick a different date if there is a conflict).

But I hear you on the work and worry. When I was a child, we lived over a day's drive away from my grandparents, so we would stay for days when we did get to see them. I didn't understand it then, but my poor grandmother always seemed to be sick when we saw her. It was just nerves - she had a "nervous stomach," and the stress of having company was almost more than she could handle. My mother has learned that making lists of things that need to be done and checking them off help her to get a handle on the anxiety, so though she may look a bit obsessive, she can still sleep and eat. She enjoys having the company, and seems to enjoy the "fuss," so I figure, as long as she can still do it, more power to her.

OFW, I hope you all have a great time!

Is Miss Thing 2 going to be you chicken herder?
Some people are quite good at it, and other people need to stay out of the way.

Did all of the money hungry teenagers get jobs?
Sorry to hear that you hurt that bad:hugs
You look to have a nice morning no rain, not many clouds and, low 60's Enjoy the day!
DD bringing home good weather for the weekend?

I don't know any teenagers but a had several people offer to help but I'm kind of stubborn.... But that's what got me this far....;)

Going to be a beautiful day here, too. Think we're going to head up to Santa Fe and walk around the botanical garden.

Thanks for the coffee!

Hope you enjoyed it... It's sunny and 70 here.... Perfect

Oh I live lists. I have several apps just for different lists.

I live by list also....riddled with ADD

OFW, I am late reading this, so I hope that you and the party went over well!
It's good to see that you are just a little bit on the normal side like we are.
Like people, like a clean house/barn/shed/coop/yard/shop, just seem to run out of time for much cleaning, life gets in the way alot.
Have a nice and quiet Sunday
