I'm doing good! I don't come on for a day and have 25 subscriptions, I can't imagine a few weeks! Glad you're ok! :)

Good morning everyone. Heading south on I-25 towards home.

Glad DH is driving, since I am definitely not awake yet. Need to stop for coffee soon.

Safe travels the rest of the way home! :)

Safe trip Friday, and how did you manage to get in the car without coffee?
I have to get at least 16 oz. in the dash cup holder before the truck will start.

Now I have to fix a pot in my office.

Morning! Safe travels Friday. I25 was light yesterday evening, for whatever reason, on the north side of Denver. We did go to wrestling practice......
OFW, glad the hail did not do too much damage.
Coffee! It looks like we are going to get some rain today. The fish stockers come tomorrow AM. We are putting minnows, grass carp and brown trout in the big lake this year.

Oh that is exciting. Do they charge for that now? We did it years ago and it was free, would love to do it again in FIL little dam, but have not decided.
We have a large dam but it is overrun with carp :/

Good morning everyone. We had a fun weekend and am now happy to be back to routine.
I am taking the dog into town to get a cut and shots. She will look much more comfortable once done, ugly as a large black tailless rat, but more comfortable. :D

Definitely not free. The brown trout are expensive but they grow well up here. I would get an estimate from your local fish hatchery and see what they recommend.

howdy OFW, you had some crazy weather.

I know our farmers struggle with too much rain, late frosts, and too little rain.

We may do that sometime. We stocked with bass, bluegill and minnows (native, grow well) but at this point the only thing in that dam are small bass now. They do not grow to legal length.

research what you want to do with your fish. do you jsut want them to grow out and then use a a food source, or do you want sustainable.

bass are fun to fish for and to catch, but not the best to use as a food source, and it takes intensive management to get good size on them.

I always hated stocking perch, since every decent size body of water will always wind up with perch, since the shoreline birds invariably bring in fish eggs.

minnows are good to use for food for your fish stock tho. especially when you first stock you pond.

My FIL over stocked his pond with hybrid catfish, and is see slow growth rates as well. Downside for him, is that his pond won't be sustainable with hybrids. But even stocking any variety of catfish also takes management, otherwise your stocked fish, will eat them selves up, if you never harvest them.
