It has been so quiet lately, I almost miss them.....

. or maybe I just miss the adrenaline rush.....

There certainly are bears, and the grizzlies get closer all the time. Luckily my house is where bears usually don't go. Although I am not one to tell a bear much of anything. Probably, " don't eat me, I'm stringy".

@ Allisha, do they think someone is setting the fires?

No, our state is going through a weird drought. It has been an uncharacteristically warm past year, with a month long winter that barely had any snow because we had no precipitation, and now since it is summer, we still don't have precipitation so it is super dry. The fire that burned 40 acres was caused by a lightning strike, the fire with 20 acres was malfunctioning machines used to cut the hay, the rest were due to natural occurences, but the closest, last one I haven't got an update on it,

It's cool you get bears but I walk a lot on my own, don't think I'd feel safe with bears prowling around.

I think last year a grizzly bear ate a tourist.

It would be just my luck to visit the US and get eaten by a bear.

It's like they say to every visitor. Never approach the wildlife. It's not a pet.

If you try to Pet a wild bear that's just natural selection.
