BYC Café

Lol, DH dream is to do that cruise to Alaska and then the train across it. When he first told me he would like to go someday, I missed the riding on a train part and thought he meant we were hiking. I thought "Great I am going to get eaten by a bear" But the train idea sounds great.

That sounds like a lot of fun :) i wanted to do the train across the US and Canada. Always wanted to go to Alaska though or anywhere out west. I've been to all the New England states, New York, Pennsylvania, Florida and that's it. Well, New Jersey and Georgia for Layovers one time :p I have been to Canada and the Bahamas but I'd love to see more of our own country

See and I an the opposite. I have been to all the Western States, but never went East. We have family in Washington, Oregon, and Northern CA.

Also did you guys hear about the lady who's kid almost got eaten by a mountain lion? Her husband called 911 and she ran out and opened the **** lion's mouth and got her kid's head out!!!! The kid was fine, just minor injuries. A miracle really. I don't know how that lion didn't decide to eat mom too

Yes it did. Mountain Lions generally only attack prey it knows it can easily beat or ambushes larger prey. I think that is probably why the mom managed it. But I agree, miracle.

Good Morning Everybody,
Thanks for getting the coffee BertS, Did your garden ever get to dry out properly?

Allisha I'm glad to hear that the fires aren't because of a deviant. Hopefully y'all will get some good rain soon. MMarge sounds like you've had some run ins with the local wildlife up there that would make a cup of coffee even more interesting. When I was a kid we went camping in Ruidoso, NM and had a bear come in our camp. We got in the station wagon and watched it through the windows. The bear rolled this wooden, locked box all over the place. It was full of bread items and homemade choc chip cookies. That bear wanted that stuff, but he never got the box opened. Forty years later that memory still makes me chuckle.

Hey, just noticed that the Café made the top ten most active threads yesterday. We are going to have to add more tables and a larger coffee pot.

Good morning, Scott.

Glad you got some rain we missed it here, DH is disappointed. We are going to the zoo tomorrow, leaving tonight. DH was really hoping for the rain to make it easier to justify leaving, I told him I did not care if it rained or not, he is coming.
FIL is going to give him grief about it, but I can overrule :D

Good morning everyone! I haven't stopped by the cafe in a couple days, so thought I would need to stop in and say hello! Hope all you stay safe with the fires going on. :) Did you get the horse yet Margie? Sorry if I missed this in an earlier post. :p

Good Morning to you too Sir Sour!
That's 2 days in a row that we made the top 10 list, Tuesday we were #10.
There's always the patio out back, I'll plug in the bug lights and turn on the overhead fans.

So, here I am again asking for advice. How do you bury chickens, straight in the ground or in a bag first? Have just had my four Red Sex Links killed by a stray pitbull. Animal control has hauled her off, I've rescued Madea, and now I'm cleaning up the carnage. This is horrible. I have the hole dug and I just need to know which way to go. Advice, anyone?
