I was in TSC yesterday. They were out of sheep mineral but had a great sale on a heated bucket for the boys.
It got to 27 today and for a short while, it was sunny too, so I am only half froze!

Yeah, they have a lot of good stuff. I don't go there too often because we get our feed from a local store (TSC doesn't carry it) but I do go there sometimes. I get the grit and oyster shell for the chickens there but I haven't been in a while because that lasts a while haha although that said, I am switching them to a different feed for winter because I heard too much calcium for non-layers can be bad for them long term & layer is really only supposed to be for active layers. Of course, a lot of people just feed layer feed year round anyways and yeah, my girls all seem perfectly fine and probably would be if I kept them on it, but mine are also pets so I want them to be around for as long as possible and if I have the info, why not? Haha soooo anyway, sorry for the rambling but since only 2 hens (or 4? I get 2 eggs a day but from different hens I think) are laying I am switching them from Nutrena NatureWise Hearty Hen to Purina Flock Raiser. I like the HH cause it has 18 percent protein instead of 16. I'm not sure what Flock Raiser is but I think it's the same or higher. I have 8 hens so 2 eggs a day is pretty low so they probably shouldn't all be on layer. That's down from 5-6 a day. They were laying 6-7 sometimes, with the light change and cold they made a gradual change. 4-5 wasn't so bad, 2 is abysmal lol but they are also molting and look hilariously awkward so I suppose they can be forgiven. One is bullied so she hasn't laid for a while anyway. So yeah, I hope they do okay when switching. But I forgot I recently bought food so I guess I'll have to wait till this one runs out before opening the Purina or maybe mix it?? But there's still a lot left so don't wanna start mixing just yet.

Anyway, sorry, I talked way too much and got on a million tangents hahah whoopssss.

I was originally going to say that there is another tractor supply near us too we go to. This particular one has been supposed to open for a long time but had a lot of trouble. It's only been open a month.

I didn't see any goat mineral there but did see cow mineral and I think sheep mineral. I saw this thing for goats like a supplement or something but it felt like pellets rather than mineral so idk. I think the other one has mineral
