Sorry you are all so cold... hot toddy's maybe.. foot warmers, and a warm bed..

@ drumstick diva @ Sourland ok ok photos

I nearly had a heart attack at four this morning went to feed and let chooks out - could not find my new one anywhere. My original one was first out as usual to get breakfast first - no sign of the new one - anyway finally found her nesting but hidden - relief

new one

pics of original one - not great but get better ones later when sun is higher

The main thing is that 'new one' is sitting so will maybe get babies - I really hope so -

You all keep warm, sounds impossible. Thinking of you. Thank you for the kind words about my garden, I can't say I did all of it I had a landscaper in to do the deck for mum and 'make pretty' so she could see from her bed - but she never made it.... anyway enough of that - its a beautiful day - taking myself out for a curry at lunch...

Good Morning TK and Whoop,

Coffee is good and much needed this moaning.
The hot toddy will have to wait for after lunch at the earliest.
It's not all that cold here, high 30's now and getting up to the high 50's later today.
I have to find housing for a trio of year old Cayuga's that somebody was 'nice' enough to give the DW for Christmas.

Can I mix an older trio with an younger bunch of 5 and not have a fight?
I hope that everybody can have a good Tuesday.

Good morning, thanks for the coffee!

Loving whoop's pics. Good luck with the little sebright. :fl

Scott, what's wrong with the ducks?? You never know joining groups, but if they are similar size, they should be fine. And ducks get to their adult size in just a few months. They will fight a little, and work it out, just like chickens. Of course they should still be watched early on.

Good Morning WVC,

Are you getting any of that snow they are talking about to the north of my area?
How is your DH, I haven't seen much about him lately?
I don't know if anything is wrong with the trio. The guy who blessed me, I mean my DW with these ducks has a habit of getting different birds/breeds and then after a few weeks changing his mind and giving them away to somebody else. He always says he needs the room for his next show bird breeding project.
I think that he is like a kid in the candy store who can only have just so many pieces of candy at any one time, and the next kind he sees is what he wants now.

lucky you......errr....DW.

I agree with WVC, while I don't have duck experience, it has been my experience with all animals, that they tend to work it out more often than not.....

None of the white stuff here yet Scott. Supposed to be super-cold for a couple of days though... Thursday and Friday, I believe.

DH is ok. Having hernia repair surgery next week (21st), apparently after the February surgery, part of the muscle has split, so he's got a pretty big hernia. They will have to open him up again to repair, since the last surgery was so drastic, he likely has a lot of scar tissue inside there. He's scared, but sure it will all go well. Thank you for asking!

Sad to say, I resemble that kid-in-a-candy-store. So many breeds I want! But I have been good and not gotten anything new lately. Just more of the same.

Why do you need to get rid of the ducks?

for you and DH lots of luck and love know how he feels - be positive - is it vital to be done this year?- early next year maybe better. This year has been a complete ***** all round - year of the Monkey and we all, at least here, know what those little so and so's can get up too.

Gotta go my windows have arrived yeah...
