Thanks. It's kind of bittersweet for me

I enjoy making things but I hate dismantling antiques. Once they are cut they are lost forever

Well, there are antiques, and there are some things that are just old, y'know?

We rented a house for a vacation one time that had a bunch of old furniture in it. Some folks who signed the guestbook burbled enthusiastically about the "antique furniture," but I saw a bunch of mass-produced stuff that had been cheap when it was new, and had simply weathered the years without really gaining anything except a bit of wear. There were some things that had been designed to be functional, and still were; but it was clearly a case of beauty being in the eyes of the beholder. If it has sentimental value, that's different, but some older stuff may actually gain value by getting repurposed.

And then there are things like that old iron bedstead that Critter pulled out of the woods that would gain value by getting recycled.

Flying Batmans, still here! Have a few repairs, ie redo a sheep Quanshut. 100+winds...... Actually, the highest officially recorded was 110mph.
Power blinked but we didn't lose it so dinner was on target and not over the wood stove a few hours later. All good. The sheep were a bit perplexed this AM......

Good Morning. Crazy weather. 70s yesterday. 50s today. But I'll take it over freezing!

Got a new egg layer yesterday, and a re-layer after a long break. Seems to be going around here. C'mon girls, my incubator is lonely! Lol

Have a great day all.
