BYC Café

You are a bit on the chilly side, I see low teens and lower over most of you guys.
How do you keep the ducks happy in this kind of temps?
Stay warm for sure and hot coffee helps.

I'm making the 2nd pot of coffee and going back out to deal with more hard water.
Have a good day everybody!
Scott

I'm up north on the Ohio River side. Close to where I-77 crosses into Ohio. I don't think we got it as bad as some areas.

The ducks really don't mind the snow. They don't even have a house to go into. A covered shelter with wind-block on a couple sides, where their food/water is, with lots of straw, and a couple of totes they could get inside of. But their favorite spot is another area of boulders with a small wind-block on one side. That area doesn't even get the morning sun, but that's where they prefer. Go figure.

Thanks for the extra coffee!

Hey Scott, what did yall ever do with DWs ducks??

Wind is also kicking up.  I really hate the wind.  Just going to give the dogs their soup, shovel a bit of snow, and then the Princess is taking me to breakfast.  It tastes so much better when she pays.

Her money is better than your money :D
Have you seen Scaredy Cat since the cold hit?

I am a happy person! No wind here and the temps have gained 15 degrees in last 2.5 hours. We are all the way to Zero now. I am thinking about sun bathing today.

Will you kick the Turkeys off of the deck first or let someone else chase them off for you?

Just wondering how that will work out.

Scaredy hates the wind and becomes very cautious when snow is on the ground. She came out to eat last night and streaked back to her hiding place under one of my coops.

We still have 2 pens of ducks, well one duck pen and then part of my garden is in use for the last batch of gifted ducks.
I will do up a 2nd duck pen when the weather is in a way better mood.
Good to see that Scaredy is still with you, Sir Sour!

I was laughing because you were laughing. Like Miss Wiggles, I couldn't figure out what they were at first glance either.

Good morning everyone,

Have fun at breakfast, Sour!

Yeah, I got that, it's really okay! I realize now the post you just quoted sounded sarcastic but I want to clarify that I was 100% not being sarcastic, I really am glad you got a kick out of it because otherwise I'd just be over here laughing by myself like a crazy person :D :lau

The chickens basically hit under the coop during the snow storm yesterday (I really gotta make a bigger area for them to hide) but seem to be out and about today.

Took Gator on a walk in the woods, which was fun and all, but I wasn't planning on having to break trail in the snow

And yes i know snow obviously lands in the woods too but I thought there'd be less than there was
