Morning! I told my son and he is psyched, however, I played a joke. I was a smidge crabby with him during MS wrestling practice and then when we got in the truck I handed him a typed letter and said that I was tired of getting notes about his behavior on and off the mat, etc. The letter implied that he had to miss a week of school to consider this and oh by the way,,,," You're in Dude! Happy Birthday! Regards, The Parents"
He thought he was dead meat and when he got the joke he just about fell out of the truck. It was awesome....

We had 80 mph winds again last night, still rocking about 50 and a balmy 10F. Even the sheepies are cowering in their shelters as I am in mine drinking hot coffee.
Nasty weather!

Finally broke down yesterday and bought a pint of gelato that I'd been wanting to try for a long time: strawberry habanero - it tastes awesome!

Sweet with a kick! What brand is that Friday? I haven't seen that one in our grocery store.

It's a local company -Van Rixel Brothers. I got it at our local co op. And yes, it's sweet and creamy until you start to swallow it and then it has more heat than I expected. Love It!!

Whoop, anything is possible, but there is a whole lot of time between now and when DS$ would be of Olympic age. He is just getting the opportunity to have his technique
worked on by the same trainers and coaches as the "good ones' do. He has never said that he wants to go the Olympics actually. He is just taking this one step at a time and his first goal is to go to college on a wrestling scholarship. We will just see what he matures into and if he decides the work is something that he wants. That part ain't my picket line!

Oh that was too funny!

Winds here only hit 50 yesterday for a few hours. The leaves blew into a huge mountain in the corner of the garden, then the gusts would blow some over the fence to the neighbors. I thought about flicking some up with a rake until the whole pile was gone, but then decided that wouldn't be nice.
