Drove around today and found lots of horse farms lol and it was pretty of course. We kinda went more towards the countryish and we went to lunch then we went shopping at the new Marshall's lol saw an old friend there. Well, family friend, not really mine. And of course I immediately went to the pet section LOL worth it though. Found a new toy for Gator but I'm going to try to save it for Christmas. Also found a giant bag of treats (well, more small cookies) for $6! It's like 14 oz and a mix of 3 flavors, I've bought some of the individual flavors before. At the pet store it probably would have been like $12-$15 or more LOL also found some training treats. Not really a known brand but they looked fine. $4. Decent size bag too. Would have probably been $6-$8 at the pet store. I got him a peanut butter one and a bacon one. They also had chicken but I figured he'd like those ones best. It's good because we needed training treats. We ran out and only have cookies left. I don't do much training so it doesn't really matter but I'm starting to again so we needed them. He's kind of lazy and getting older so I won't do much but just reinforcing his obedience commands and I'm going to start working on strengthening his back end/hind legs and I've been working on nosework/scent stuff. I've been using Cheerios LOL

Soooo it was a pretty good trip

I used to use microwaved liver with garlic ,chopped in small pieces for training treats . Dogs love it. You can freeze for later use too.

I might have to try that! Oddly he doesn't like fresh liver but he might like it cooked. He also likes the freeze dried liver treats you can buy? He is so weird LOL he also likes beef heart. Yet not liver

I said this on the other thread but idk if everyone goes there, I think most of you do?, but if anyone wants more details about his training or more specifically my new plan for fixong his recall, here you go lol

He's pretty advanced with his obedience but it can never hurt to practice more. He also doesn't always come when called haha

I'm hoping the cookies help with that though. He's going to get one every time he comes in. But also, I'm going to just call him and make him come to me randomly outside and then let him go and stay out. Because right now I think he thinks that when I call him, especially after he's been barking, that that means he is going to be brought in. And it usually does mean that lol so he ignores me. But he needs to come every time and on the first time preferably. He DOES listen if I step towards his rope (he knows I will reel him in lol don't even have to pick it up anymore), like I did today, but I want to just change his overall mentality rather than force him. Some might not agree with that but I just want him to learn that you won't necessarily be brought in when you're called but you do need to listen. Maybe I'll even bring him in if he doesn't listen the first time. Idk.

But he can stay or wait (different commands, wait is like don't take that food yet, don't go yet, etc.) foreverrrrrr because he's so lazy. :lau

He's legit like "just stay here until you say so? Okayyyyy WOO HOO I GET TO LIE DOWN" :lau

And sorry if that's a repeat hah

And the pictures above are all the stuff. Idk why there's so many, sorry ha

For our dogs(many years back) they used to get a hard boiled egg for their birthday. They would try to swallow it whole and pieces flew everywhere. I should have sliced it up,they probably could have chocked on it. Boy did they love that

Oh and to make up for the possible repeat here are some pictures of Gator with peanut butter on his head lol I tried to wipe it off but it was still there and it was hilarious this was today

Also sometimes I wish I had a little bit more motivated or energetic dog, with the drive to do more advanced training or to be more enthusiastic about searches, but then I look at his cute little face and realize I love him as he is lol

AND

I appreciate barely having to exercise him haha

What is the bump on top of his head?

What is the bump on top of his head?

I think it's just the angle that makes it look worse than it is haha

But he's always had a bit of a bump/crown there because of his breed (black lab/Great Pyrenees, comes from his Pyrenees side), idk why but we sometimes call it the bump of knowledge LOL he's very smart

But anyway, it has gotten worse over the summer though. He is losing muscle next to his crown. I guess there's muscles on the top his head? And he is losing them I think. I forget the exact term. I might put him back on steroids though to slow it down

But anyway, he used to be so handsome with a big full head and just a slight point/crown but now it's kind of flattened up there :/

Last summer I bought a 4x5 pound pack of south american green beans from Sweet Marias. One of the single origin beans is: Brazil Fazenda Alta Vista. The description is:

City+ to Vienna: Pecan ice cream, dark caramel, bittersweet cocoa hazelnut, leathery top note in the finish. Good for espresso

I like it fine as brewed coffee. It does make a great espresso too

Sweet Marias is a good company, I've used them in the past. Anymore, I've been using Specialty Java, we're kind of stuck on our favorites there.
