Morning! About 18F (-8C) here but sunny. Not as cold as they said we were going to get so it is all good with a side of hot coffee. DS$ is just fine and will be on his way to school here in a bit. I ordered 4 pairs of winter boots for various family members last night, under $400, so I am actually happy with that. One of them is for my DIL's brother, affectionally nicknamed DS^ for future reference, whom I convinced to move here because he was headed down the wrong path if he stayed where he was. It could still all go south, but I think he is starting to realize that he is a very valuable young man hanging out with my DS#, DS% (also acquired) and the local cowboys stacking semi loads of hay and doing ranch work. He has 5 full-time job offers after being here a week. He just has to make a decision (or two) and he looked at me when they stopped by the other day and just shook his head in disbelief when we were chatting. This is the first time that I have really gotten to talk to him and I think he is very saveable. But anyway, more hot coffee is needed!

thanks for giving him the chance. I think most young men, given a bunch of manual labor and some love and support and the understanding that they are a great help, can turn into great men.

I've never tried them with pecans. I like to just bake them (or mash them) with some butter, salt & pepper. How do you like to fix them with pecans?
