They use momentum! Mine tossed my ceramic tv lamp off the book shelf last night! Luckily it landed in a box of clothes!
Oh wow! Lucky it landed on clothes!
Nice mix

I have a Black Australorp and I honestly keep forgetting I have her lol poor thing. So I guess that won't be a breed we continue with. Only had Buff Orpington roos (lost two chicks which were probably female).
I'm thinking about getting Easter Eggers in the spring as well.
I've heard the Buckeyes from the small hatchery near me are good but a bit lighter and smaller then standard. But I'll be looking to see if there's some breeders near me; I think there may be some that got their lines from a good breeder in Alberta.
Thanks! And yeah, I don't think I would get any more. Although part of that might just be because their space is too small and they're stressed or learned had behavior. Hopefully the new coop changes that. And also there is a member on here who has really nice Australorps. Kurt I think might be his name? Beautiful, friendly birds. If I get more they will be from his flock. No more hatchery Australorps. Or I might try again with more space. But for the price of shipping and everything, I can get quality birds from him or locally.
I love my Buff Orpingtons! Very friendly! Would be more so if I spent more time with them lol kind of lazy about that lately. But they are very nice. Kind of stupid though lol at least some of them. Sometimes they are smart and know exactly where the food is (One comes running whenever I turn over rocks, bricks, etc. Or get a shovel lol) but then other times they can't find the door to the run to get in or out....
Some of my other chickens do that too but "get it" quicker.
But sometimes the chickens just pace the back and go running halfway up the run, ALMOST to the door, and then turn around and will keep pacing like that lol I'm like IF YOU WOULD JUST KEEP GOING THE DOOR IS RIGHT THERE AND IT IS NOT SMALL LOL
I think my Barred rock is probably my smartest chicken. Not the cuddliest but not mean either and just seems to be very aware.
You will love the Easter Eggers if you get them! Beautiful eggs. One of mine is a bit flighty/scaredy cat but other than that they are great.
And yeah, I am sure smaller hatcheries might be better but I wouldn't get them from a bigger hatchery
DH was digging around in a cupboard and had set the crockpot on top of a placemat on the kitchen table. I think the guilty cat probably pulled the placemat and the crockpot toppled off. I'm glad it didn't break but I could do without the dent in the fridge
It's hard to find a safe spot to put things that the cats can't get into.
That makes sense. And hmm yeah, the dent isn't ideal but it's character
Exactly! They are very athletic. Have to lock stuff in the closet or put it in the work shop. I have to watch the little one, he likes to eat plastic wrap!
The female I have likes to chew paper. I think I should have named her Shredder. Books, important papers, pictures, boxes...she loves it all
The Shepherd laid down next to my pile of library books the other night and started to gnaw! I put a stop to that really fast. She has 2 big bones to chew!
Maybe your dog and my cat are related?
LOL oh wow!
I am thankful my cat is not a pain and rarely knocks anything over. She mostly sleeps lol
Well, sometimes she is a pain in that she always wants a can of food or attention so she will jump or run up and meow at you, run you, walk on everything, etc but she's cute
She does love paper though. She LOVES all boxes so I give her some sometimes
And she has been known to chew my school papers lol
And she loves to sleep on plastic oddly
Although now she sleeps in a chair or the window seat (on a blanket) in my room
Sorry. Thought I sent this earlier lol
