BYC Café

Well I tried! But upstairs the flash got in the way, and then they would run somewhere else. There was actually three loose. Wish I had gotten one by the playset, it was just a bit of a surprise to see it there!

Last year their pigs would constantly get loose. We were not impressed by that.
Nice pictures!

Good fences make good neighbors--They need better fences!

Yes, unfortunately they're the "bad" neighbours on the street. Guess before we moved in there was already ongoing grievances with the township by-law officer. From what I've gathered they just don't care :(.

Years ago, even before I had the minis, a friend's horses got loose and were roaming the neighborhood. The first I knew about it was when a sheriff's deputy caught up with me in the rabbitry and asked if I knew whose horses they might be. It took me about 2 seconds to figure out that he knew exactly nothing about horses, so I knew he'd need some help getting them back where they belonged. My kids were pretty young at the time, but I popped into the house and asked my son to keep an eye on his sister for a few minutes while I helped the deputy put my friend's horses back. The horses had moved, so it took us a little while to track them down, and then the circus really began! They ran around quite a bit; even ran across my property a couple of times and left deep footprints under my back windows. I wound up sprinting for all I was worth to get to the right places to head them off, but eventually we did get them back in their pasture (they had broken a gate). When I got back home, I found my son on the phone with his father, telling him that I had been arrested! I thought I had explained the situation, but apparently all that registered was the fact that I left with a deputy.:barnie

I'll grab a cup @N F C !

So I opened up our bedroom curtain this morning. And see a horse in our backyard. Just hanging out by our playset. We don't have any horses :)

LOL

No, but I went to school in Peterborou g. We were looking to buy a place in Douro-Dummer though. I can not tell you the amount of drives we had all through that area, all the little streets. And even though I love the area we never would have found the type of farm we bought here. So I guess it all worked out. But I do miss it too. Living in a new area, not working, and living rural can feel a bit isolating at times :(

:hugs

That's where BYC comes in handy...lots of folks here in the same boat. :)

True

Morning Cafe'. Have to process a few chickens today.

I hate killing. :hit

That is why I could never raise my own meat. I get too attached.

I've also gotten to that point. That being said, I can still do the necessary. It is needless abuse of kids or animals that I REALLY hate.

Me too

They are beautiful horses!

That's a shame :(

Those animals deserve better

:lau OMG that is hysterical!

I had that happen 2 different times this past summer. I back onto a First Nations reservation and they tend to let their horses roam free.
I had a horse in my yard in TN, he was looking around the apple trees. We did find who he belonged to. Once the elk down the road got loose and they had to round those up.
