It's been above freezing during the day for the past week
Finally got the new log splitter fueled and fired up. Managed to get about a cord out of what we cut back in September. Went to the neighbour's gigantic wood pile and got a little bit more cut. Hopefully that will buy us another month or so of heat.

Mornin', y'all!

Get well wishes to all my fellow bug sufferers. I told BB2K this morning that I'm glad I didn't commit to the Christmas parades this year - they are this weekend, and there's just no way I'm up to it. This cold is a beast! It's been mostly cough and headache, no real sore throat and just a little bit of a sniffle, but I have absolutely no energy. BB2K caught it a week and a half ago, and she's still coughing. Critter came down with it a couple of days after I did; he says he feels like a spider (move a little, breathe a little, move a little, breathe a little . . . or did you know that spiders hold their breath when they run?)

Yeah . . . someone was trying to do a study on the energy requirements of the different gaits of animals by putting them on treadmills and measuring their respiration/oxygen use; the spiders were a total bust.
