I am using this one:

Mucinex Dm (Dextromethorphan / Guaifenesin) is a combination medicine that relieves multiple cold symptoms. It's good to use if you have chest congestion and a cough. Helps loosen the mucus and phlegm that builds up in productive and wet coughs.

It has a cough suppressant too!

I have to be careful of decongestants, i have hypertension.

I almost tried musinex last ear but then i read some horror story of an allergic reaction

Web MD says that low blood pressure on standing is an infrequent side effect of Guaifenesin so it should be safe

Costco sells a generic that is much less expensive. Maybe you are having some allergies?

But the DM part may cause a problem. I take Guaifenesin, no problem.

We buy the generic same as name brand less money at Costco like 60 for name 9.95 generic here

You would have to consult with your pharmacist to see if Dextromethorphan reacts to your blood pressure medicine. It does not look like it causes high blood pressure.

A good pharmacist is priceless!
