I've never heard of them. What's it like?
It's very easy to make.
It's just fried eggs inside bread (the basket).
You take a piece of your favorite bread then you cut a hole in the center. I just use whatever I have available, usually a wine or champagne glass since it's a perfect circle haha, but it might be easier to use a cookie cutter or fried egg ring or whatever. Others who cook mpre might have a better idea.
ANYWAY.
The hole has to be big enough for an egg but not so big that you rip the bread.
Then you butter the bread or you can do it before you cut the whole. Alternatively, and what I've been doing lately, is you can just butter the pan and put the bread right in. Slightly easier.
The butter helps brown/toast up the bread but you can use what you want.
Then you simply crack an egg in the center.
Cook it to your liking then flip it and cook that side. Or I guess you could leave it and have sunny side up haha but I like both sides toasted up.
Then tou also toast up the little circles. If your pan is big enough you can toast them together with the main thing or do it after.
Then make as many as you want. I usually have two.
The idea is you can use all the bread to help soak up the yolk.
