Probably a royal pain to ship between countrieshmmm not sure how hard it is to ship from here ? the gal I picked up mine from is in Graham she has very nice birds
We used to buy merchandise in NJ and drive it in our cargo van to NS. Hubby had tons of paperwork to fill out, and not even bringing livestock.Probably a royal pain to ship between countries
Yup.We used to buy merchandise in NJ and drive it in our cargo van to NS. Hubby had tons of paperwork to fill out, and not even bringing livestock.
It is so weird because we have crossed many times with animals over the years and never got asked about papers.Yup.
I can only imagine that it would be a thousand times worse with live animals, even if they came from am NPIP farm.
Years ago I sent 3 Cockers to UK. Boy that was a fuss. I believe it was long quarantine before they were allowed into the country. Buyer had to pay for that plus shipping etc.I know it was to keep rabies off the island BUT, it doesn't take a dog 3 mos. or more to show rabies. Dogs had to have rabies shots before leaving USA and health certificate etc.
One was a champion in whelp to a ch.,buyer selected. Bad thing is she had to be far enough along for a vet to pronounce her pg but, not so far along as to whelp as soon as she got to quarantine. Of course that was added cost for buyer.
Too nerve wracking for me. Not to mention I sent over a beautiful female gratis because they wanted more of my stud's progeny over there. I said if they would let her live out her full natural life, she was free. What a bozo I was to believe them.
The champion I had sent them "suddenly" passed at 7 yrs of age, once they were through breeding her. By golly if the free female I sent later didn't suddenly pass at 7 yrs. of age also, after her last litter .Coincidence or conspiracy- you be the judge! Parents of said dogs lived quite a bit longer.
I was just sick about it and cut off all communications with the woman. Never sent any more abroad. Incidentally the first sent to a different breeder was a male and he lived quite a lot longer and sired many ofspring. Of course that was probably because a male can be used a lot longer than a female.
Was very happy when I stopped showing & breeding and just had my oldies in the house- they loved it and so did we.
