BYC Café

Well, I just bought a home gym combination thingy for $100. Moving sale from a guy that couldn't take the "winter" up here. The high school is redoing their weight room and so it will not be available for summer use by students and I just happen to have a youngster that can start doing some light strengthening for high school wrestling prep.
When he isn't working outside, that is. Now we need to figure out where to put it...
When I started reading this I was expecting to see how you were going to DIY a new coop!

Weather talk, getting fit, outrageous woman's work clothes prices; I can get in on these topics :D;)

Got some syrup done today. It's going to be colder next week but if the sun is shining I think the sap should run.
Going to do some yoga next week; I'm feeling really sluggish these days. Decided that I will take a "me" night into the city every week or two.
I find most mens clothing does not fit me very well, the proportions are wrong. So I usually have to buy the women's anyway, but it depends on the item.

Sorry I missed morning coffee, but I'll put the kettle on and leave some sleepy-time tea for anyone who wants it.

Men's clothes don't fit me very well but, the women's are worse. I can't wear "fitted" styles - the fit top and bottom but not in the middle. I love the Flannel shirts with fleece lining - some have hoods too. So cuddly I love to sleep in them. Hard to fit a coat or parka over them - so what. I gave up glamour ages ago. I wear what I like.

It's time for winter to go, just go!

Agreed!

Although we've had a pretty mild winter the past few years

thank heavens we finally have spring on tap here :wee:celebrate

Lucky!

Well, I don't care if spring is only days away, It's still winter today. Coffee is brewed. For me it's a coffee kind of day. Leaves on the rhododendrons are curled.

Our rhododendron got bent over from the snow :(

I think you saw the pic in the other thread.

Thankfully though it was warm and sunny today so the snow melted off it and it bounced back up. Except for maybe a few branches, I need to check it.

Morning! Trying to flush the dregs of the cold out with coffee, I am not sure that it is helping... Nice score on the greenhouse, NFC!
Sorry for your snows, Sour and KDog! It wants to be Spring around here, but that just means we can get any kind of weather and bears, the friggin bears...
Need more coffee!

Thanks!

I think I would be scared to live near bears

:hugs@KDOGG331 , local news is painting a grim picture of the situation up there. Hopefully some of the folks that got power back for us are headed North. I saw trucks from as far West as Wisconsin and as far south as Mississippi/Alabama and everywhere in between.

Thank you Sour!

We got probably a foot, maybe a little more, some areas got like 1 1/2 to 2 feet! We lost power sometime yesterday morning and finally got it back tonight around 8.

So we are pretty lucky.

But I think the Cape and towns on the water got it worse. The Cape and Islands usually get hit hard with winds and it's usually way stronger winds down there.

And of course the water towns get lots of flooding and wave damage.

My brother's girlfriend's parents house got ruined with the first storm! Then kept getting beat up with all these other storms. :(

They just bought it last year and he's spent like 6 months or more working on it. He's a contractor so did a lot of it himself. But anyway, just redid the kitchen and cabinets, new floor, new everything, now ruined! They didnt want to do the roof right away i think so did other stuff. Anyway, they had a rubber roof on it. It blew away with that first storm and crazy winds we had was it last week? Week before? And it hit the chimney, knocked the chimney down, and all the rain blew right into the house! They are devastated as they loved that place! The neighbors are very nice and there's some good restaurants too etc.

And they went down there right away to try to put a new tarp up or try to fix it but decided why bother after seeing the news and the other expected storms.

I usually just wear band t shirts lol i try to wear somewhat cuter pants though but yeah.

Woman's clothes are usually too small or too itchy with the damn lace or something or another. Or only designed for short girls lol

I love LL Bean though

I was a girly girl till got out of high school. Then breeding dogs, grooming dogs - like jeans and t shirts or jeans and sweat shirts etc. Still wear stuff like that even tho retired. I tend to be impulsive and just dive right in - like bare handed pulling weeds out of mud, wiping hands off on clothes, tended outdoor cactus - gloves really didn't help.

Just nice NOT to care what others think:celebrate
