Good plan Deb ! I've got my coffee and haven't quite decided how my day's going to pan out. Though I'm currently being told there's a poopy bum I need to change. *sigh* This will be the summer of potty training for sure.

Yes, that would make my stomach turn. I had to catch piglets once for castration (and they were getting a bit too big for it), anyway, the squealing, ya, lots of it.

Love pork, but one animal that I will never raise - too smart and too much personality.

Exactly how i feel. It's amazing how smart they are! The pot bellies and minis people keep as pets can learn tricks like dogs. And despite most people keeping them in mud and the whole pig pen phrase they're apparently actually pretty clean creatures.

Although I find cows have loads of personality too. I've seen ones that love to cuddle, ones that want to play, etc. Through videos but still ha I don't think they're the brightest, certainly not as much as pigs, but I think they are cuter and probably cuddlier.

I can see why people go vegetarian or vegan for sure. Makes me sad just thinking about it.

But oddly I can eat meat from the store

That makes sense. Especially if you bought them for a purpose.

But I just feel like I'd want to save every special one. Or at least the really super special ones. I'd probably think they're all special though, hence only the super special ones haha

Or maybe even sell it to a farm or sanctuary or something cause that way you get the money for it and get to save it and not have to feed it for nothing.

But I can see how it's not reasonable

Really heavy winds last night, but nowhere near the amount of snow predicted thank goodness.

Butchering day today. Probably have about 500 lbs of meat.

Because the pigs killed for meat in the store are not the same as the ones we raise...
