Insomnia last night. I think I finally fell asleep at 4:30.

Not all done yet. Today is bacon smoking day. Then it's vacuum sealing time. But yeah, the butchering and wrapping is all done.
Weird having just chickens for chores now.

I would think it would be a relief to just have chicken chores now You guys did a lot of work with the butchering and wrapping. Bet that smoke smells good!

Aren't you nervous about using chicken wire? I would be worried about stray dogs.

I built this year's ago before i knew the uselessness of chicken wire. But, I use this more like a run then a proper tractor, putting them back in the brooder overnight. Once they get big enough we free range during the day.
We do not get many stray dogs around here fortunately and those that do get sent on their way by our dog. My problem is i lost my old dog over winter this year and now have a puppy. The puppy might force me to get better fencing for it, but I am trying to train him.

Good morning everyone!
It is a cold dreary day today, but I am not complaining. It was a dry winter, but that doesn't matter if we get a wet spring. I got my three things their Easter basket stuff yesterday and we are planning on going to my parents for an Easter meal (Grandma is looking forward to that, excited to play the Easter bunny again)
