I think my mom lived about 8 yrs after diagnosis. Seems about that long with my brother now. I understand that he started having cussing fits now. Out of frustration probably.
An article I read said that accidents and falls are the most common cause of death With Parkinsons. It is great that you are keeping your mom Brother from accidents!

I have essential tremors a bit too. 23&me says I do not have genetic markers for Parkinson disease. I do have a slight risk of late onset dementia with one marker of three.

Tree, don't be so hard on yourself. It is tough to have a little one and to try and do all or a majority of the homesteading chores. Pretty soon you will be able to get more stuff done. :hugs

Well, we're hoping to add to the family so I'm sure that's going to set me back again! I get stressed out too, so I have very non-productive days (like today) where I just let the little one play inside while I barely putter about. So the guilt is strong!:p

Cap, homemade French bread does not have any sugar added...
Sometimes a teaspoon or so is added. They yeast eats it though.

There is nearly not sugar in any home made bread. The most is in sweet rolls but even the a third of a cup in 12 rolls is not much sugar.

That is one of the reasons that home made bread is much better for you than store bought

Sugar busting is hard! I gave up soda, which was difficult because i used to drink a lot of it. I gave up Mallow cups, which i love. I told hubby i am trying to cut back on sugar. So the easter bunny brought me a gigantic bag of m&ms, a huge bag of jordan almonds, and a big tray of marzipan. I also limit my intake of green tea to one glass a day. Have not lost an ounce! But sugar is in so many things. Plus i do not buy anything which has sugar or corn syrup as the first ingredient. I even skip bread on at least half my sandwiches and just eat meat.
Hoping increased exercise will help cut weight this summer.

I avoid buying any treats at the store, and try to stay away from most prepackaged goods...but that doesn't stop me making my own goodies at home!
I think once I have my garden going and fresh veggies to pick it'll help me cut down. I tend to sloth a lot in the winter.

But its still a carbohydrate.
carbohydrates are good and necessary for us to live. Brains do not function well without it.

Gotta have the good kind but home made bread made with AP, Bread flour or whole grain is the good type!

I should get that testing done too.

23&me is getting permission to release more results from the FDA all the time. They released one recently for breast cancer and prostate risk for those with Jewish ancestry
