Pastries look Great!
ah! lots of planting choices then! You are just cold enough for crocus, and I think hot enough for Lantana to overwinter.
The plants derived from natives (so, improved nativesare good)
Some of my favorites are guara, all of the salvia, easy care roses from the antique rose emporium over in Brenham, butterfly weed for the monarchs, and dill for the swallowtail.
and Lantana and daylilies, and rain lilies and gobs of hollyhocks and Batchelor buttons!
oh, and plumbago and clematis, and and moon vine !!!!
Thanks for the idea Tree, I never thought of making sweet potato hash browns.
I grew them in TN, some were as big as footballs! It was my first try (I've baked fries a few times), boiled them a bit first (already cubed) and the fried them after the red peppers. It really hit the spot!
I'm going to have to try growing sweet potatoes eventually.

Yay for good weather! So spring really is supposed to arrive on Saturday, and that's great and I'm really excited but....now I have to fit a lot of work in a short amount of time and am feeling completely overwhelmed!
I have to get at least a truckload of soil down to start the garden, seeds have to get planted, I need to move dirt to better level out the new chicken coop location, oh ya, have to build a big coop. Plus I'm picking up chicks next week (yea!). Rain collection has to be set up. Etc etc etc.
It's all good, and spring will always be busy, I just wish it was a bit more spread out!
If i looked at the overview i would feel hopeless. One day at a time.So spring really is supposed to arrive on Saturday, and that's great and I'm really excited but....now I have to fit a lot of work in a short amount of time and am feeling completely overwhelmed!
