I have prairie clay soil. It holds the water.
I did put mulch and sand in the soil with pine bark. But it seems only the pear trees survive our clay.
I might try getting one for a pot later.

Isn't that clay annoying! We don't have a paved drive and just drive through the field to get to the house. I can't tell you how many times we got stuck this spring. Not to mention being able to walk.

It's terrible. It's also like trying to walk on ice when it's muddy! I can't tell you how many times I've fallen out there in the pasture under all the trees where there's no grass.

I love iced coffee in the summer. Brewed strong with coffee ice cubes and 1/2 & 1/2 added. Yum!
