Well, when she was bleeting, there were about 6 does 50 yards away and none came running, so...idk where it's mom could be? There's no road kill on the roads around my place, I just haven't a clue....this is the 1st time I've ever tried to bottle feed a baby deer. :fl

Good morning Cafe

Coffee is ready or tea if you like!
Been a busy 24hrs. with pheasant chicks hatching and the following story. Came home from work yesterday to find a new born fawn wandering around one of my pheasant pens. Well, George saw it and went to investigate. I went and picked George up to take him back inside so he wouldn't disturb the fawn.
As I was walking back to the house, the fawn had imprinted on me and was following me back to the house. It layed down at the steps, I did some things inside and went back out and took some pics, went inside again and when I returned she was gone.
Looked around and found her wandering around again. She was bleeting and no momma was coming to her aid....so now I have another mouth to feed. Here's the pics. Videos will follow on her progress.

So cute! I'm sure you'll take good care of her. I read somewhere that many young does die during the birth of their first fawns, but the fawns survive. Wish I could remember where I read that.

What pheasants do you have hatching? I was pretty sure we had to have a permit for pheasants, and from what I can find now, we still do. :( I'd love to have some, but probably not going to happen.
