BYC Café

Morning! Thanks for the coffee and crumpets!
Thanks for the well wishes, NFC. DS@ is on a great crew and his boss is cautious about where they go on a fire, not an egomaniac out to prove something. So while anything can happen, with it being a wildfire and all, he should be pretty safe. All I can say is that he loves it and enjoys the challenges. He is looking to be one of the head guys down the road.

I've never tried making them before either. If you find a recipe that works out well for you, hope you'll share it!

I found the recipe, just waiting for metal rings so we can try them out. I have homemade I got from my neighbor in exchange for eggs. Who knew chickens could open so many doors? They don't even have opposable thumbs :gig

Ugh, working in the kitchen. I don't envy you either! 90 is hot when that's your hot part of the year, just depends on where you're planted :)

I love crumpets! They look like half cooked fluffy pancakes in the package but after being in the toaster they're heaven! I'm going to try making them myself when the temps cool in fall.
There's a great crumpet shop in Seattle, just around the corner from Pike Place Market. Nothing beats a just made crumpet. I miss them.

My ancestors met the boat!:gig

Which one? :lau

I take an antidepressant to control chronic hives. It doesn't do much to improve my attitude though :gig

Sorry about the hives

Paying someone costs money. You don't really think politicians are going to pass up voting themselves a pay raise because the people are sick of their filthy cities, do you?
:duc

Lol true!!

Yes!!!!!

Wouldn't you have learned North American history in school? It's important to understand and recognize that it's colonized land. Canada was simply a British colony longer then the US. But they share a similar history including positive and negative relationships with indigenous peoples.

Look it up! :)

Yeah, we did learn about it, it's practically all we learned about actually lol I rhink we only had like one class on world history in high school and I guess some in elementary school, but a lot of US between grade school and college, but yet for some reason I couldn't remember last night and was blanking lol normally love history.

I don't think we learned that much about Canada though but idk.

Oh and I think I had ancestors on the Mayflower but not entirely sure but definitely old and one was a ship captain or builder or something and a mason and was in some of the groups/meetings with Sam Adams and Paul Revere and participated in the Boston Tea Party and Revolutionary War
