Ok I may have been too quick to judge. Does anyone know what animal would do this? I washed his bum and whoops, that looks painful!

This is the rooster I got today. His fEathers Were taken off by something I was told "something got his tail we don't know what" but quick peek it looked like it was just the feathers chewed off, his tail stump looked good. When we got home he looked kinda dark on the backside under his tail, I figured it was from the diaper I made him wear home. Nope, it was a scab that stretches the whole length of his tail stump to his Cloaca and splits it at the top, for lack of better description, like a split lip with road rash. Do not know what attacked him. But I am worried about fly strike as I really can't wrap or bandage him. I have blue coat but I am not sure that would prevent it. He was kept in a clean pen with plenty of room. The prev. Owners said he was having hi way with the ladies just fine. It doesn't look infected.
