BYC Café

It's ok DD, I forgot to mention the yellow bark scorpions, they kill lots of peeps here every year, too! And even the things that stick ya, can kill ya....sometimes the bacteria on the thorns cause antiphlactic shock! :(

How effective roller chopping was on long term brush control. With 1 pass, 2 passes, and three passes. Verses goats.
Oh, that's interesting. What was the conclusion?

More roller chopping is better than less, even many years later... but goats rock.... (unless you want deer)
Yeah, goats probably are more cost effective, too. And as you said, goats compete for the browse deer feed on.

I've got an entire yard of browse, but the deer only eat my nicest hostas, they don't eat the ordinary ones.

Yesterday a different deer was in my yard - this was a young buck working on growing his antlers. I kept yelling at him and he totally ignored me. I tried to throw a rock at him but it landed by my feet . Finally after harassing him as much as I could - he slowly walked to a gap in the trees and hopped the fence to yard behind mine. Fence is only 42" high so he really just stepped over it.

Animals are loosing their fear of me :hit even the cats trying to kill birds on MY watch don't run until I've rushed them. Then they go behind a bush and wait till I leave. They used to high tail it as soon as I came out of the house. Another painful blow to my self esteem.:(

Animals know who to fear and who not to!
