Sorry about the trip to the dentist Cap. Maybe if you're real, real good he'll let you have a prize from the treasure chest (do they still do that?).

They never had a treasure chest in my day But, my son's dentist had the treasure chest. What a bunch of garbage in it . Took him forever to find something not totally crappy.

When I was a kid, that treasure chest was the only reason mom could coerce me into going to the dentist.

The dentist I go to now has a candy bowl. Weird, right? Maybe he's just trying to keep his patients returning

This guy thinks he can educate me on taking care of my teeth and gums. I know what i should do, i just don't do it when i am depressed or very tired. Gets my goat mad and makes me stubborn.

My oldest daughter moved in with her grandparents to go to college up in KY. On our first visit, on the drive home, her sisters commented that at least her boyfriend had decent teeth. Surprised by the conversation, I asked them about their comment. They asked if I had noticed people's teeth up there. Not really. They replied that I should have paid more attention. They complained that most people up there had yellow, nasty looking teeth, and quite a few were missing teeth. Age didn't matter. The younger folks had nasty teeth too. They definitely wouldn't kiss anyone with a mouth that looked like that. It's like they had a shortage of dentists, and dental supplies for good oral hygiene.

The next time we went up, I paid more attention. I even commented to mom about it. Yes, they had dentists up there, but we were right. It seems the oral hygiene lecture from the dentist went unheeded.

Clue here in Alabama that happens to people that have well's instead of city water with the chlorine and fluoride in their water. They are suppose to be told to use a fluoride treatment on their teeth.

That non-teeth/non-dental care look was very prevalent in north FL too. I attributed it to lack of finances and dental insurance. Definitely not attractive!
