BYC Café

I've got two pullets laying which is expected; they don't do the winter slow down if they are under a year old but I've also got an 18 month old just started to lay and that according to the experts shouldn't be happening.
She didn't read that book, Shadrach!:lau

Hopefully it's just in Rawlings? I go there all the time too.

I did a bit of online reading...apparently they are opening more stores than they are closing. The parent company is doing well overall.

But with ours closing, local shopping options are very limited. And if we really, really want to go to a Dollar Tree, the closest options I've found are in Laramie (1.75 hours away) or Casper (2 hours away). Not really worth the trip if that was the only reason for going to either of those places.

But since we'll be in & out of Casper frequently this winter, we'll be there anyway.

Never heard of a grave blanket. What is it?

A seasonal arrangement of greens, pine cones, ribbons, etc to brighten the grave and indicate that the deceased are still remembered. On the way to European Provisions we passed by Thomas Marchut St. - the Princess's 19 year old cousin who was killed in Vietnam. Tommy was an only child, and within a year of his death both of his parents died. Who says a broken heart can not kill you? It struck me that there is no one to honor them. So I talked to the Princess and starting with next year we will take that on.

@N F C - European Provisions - we got Polish Kielbasa, pierogies, blintzes, stuffed cabbage, and home made vegetable noodle soup.

I believe a broken heart can hurt or kill a person. There are so many stories about couples that have been together forever passing within months of each other. And I can't think of anything worse than for a parent to lose a child...seen that with my own family. Good for you & the Princess for the remembrances today Sour.

P.S. What a great haul from the European Provisions store today! You two are going to have some wonderful treats in store for you :D

Thanks Debby, I need another round.

Sour sounds like you and Princess had a full day! And yes, a broken heart can kill.:(

It was a full day. We got a late start because the Princess slept in this morning. The ride to her hometown is an hour +, and we did a little nostalgic 'drive around'. Then on to two separate cemeteries, a stop at Red Lobster where we had a frazzled, inept, new server, but all was good. Then to European provisions and finally the ride home in the work traffic.

Tomorrow will be a calmer day - perhaps.
