I too have the knack or perhaps it's a weakness, but today was actually a relatively mellow day. Not even the thought of an 'F' bomb which the Princess says I am entirely too prone to use.

LOL, between DH's growing up in Connecticut and being in the Navy...that is a bomb I hear go off frequently.

I was a wife, mother, worked in a pet shop, was a waitress, had a picture framing shop, owned a chain of pet stores in Canada, raised dogs to show, was a professional groomer, managed the grooming shop in Petsmart, sold my paintings , raised exotic birds, owned a packaging company, raised goats, chickens, and rabbits in TN. I also sold pottery and ceramics, and was an LPN.

Thanks DD, i love learning new stuff. Oh and i taught dog obedience classes and later quilting classes at Joanne Fabric.

WOW! You’ve sure done a lot of things, Cap!!

Sadly, yes. Two high maintenance pugs and a very smart, enjoyable black lab.

I didn’t realize they had a Lab too.

The lab is youngest grandson's dog, and she is a joy. She's smart and fun to work with. She is protective but not out of control protective. I really like her.

She sounds amazing! I love Labs. Didn’t realize they could be protective though, guess I’m used to them loving everything and everyone ha, but that sounds like a useful trait if it’s not out of control, which you say it isn’t. She sounds like a really great dog. I want to get a Lab or Golden for my next dog. Figure the Goldens are a little bit “softer” and less hardheaded than Labs

Idk, just seems everything I've read on the two breeds has mentioned that. That the Goldens are softer, more sensitive, gentle, don't do as well with corrections or with chaos/loud/rough and tumble environments, people, pr dogs. Could be wrong of course and a lot does depend on breeder as well as the type of dog (field or show bred) but that just seems to be a common theme among what I’ve read and that because of all that they are more easily trainable, don’t need many corrections, but I am sure it varies a lot. Show and field/working lines of some breeds may as well be different breeds.
