BYC Café

I have a "Fruit Cake Hater's Fruit Cake" recipe that I use. I was giving them out as gifts too. I began with immediate family. The next thing I know, I had 30 people wanting fruit cakes. It got to be too expensive, and too much work. I stopped making them. I think next year I will make a couple, but keep them here for family, and friends that come by during the holidays.

Or you could make extras and sell them!

Good morning, Café, and thanks for the coffee, Debby.

You're more than welcome to the coffee Sour, but I think we need @Shadrach back so he can make that first pot. Have you ever noticed how hard it is to make coffee when you haven't had any coffee yet?

NFC, I was giving about 30 of them out as gifts. It got to be expensive, and a huge chore, that I began dreading. Like I said, I will make some for me, and my family next year, but I won't let it get out of hand like that.

Good idea, keep it fun and easy!

Sadly that's what happens Getaclue . Years ago I made a large tray of cookies and dropped it off at my favorite grocery store. Found out later that one employee grabbed & took the whole tray home for herself.

Sometimes works out better than you think. Brought cookies for my friend working at the post office. She wasn't there, so the Post Mistress took them. She was not the nicest person to deal with. AFTER cookies, she even took me in her special plant room to show me all the orchids she had grown. PLUS was great to me ever since.
