Ok, not so much on the 'display' but the coyote serenade all around was great!

You can have some from here. Lack of broodiness has not been a problem for the last few years. And they are broody? That settles it! I wanted some broodies!
Can't 'like' that Shad,Good morning Cafe.
Coffee is on the stove.
Not a good start to the New Year. I've got an injured hen who can't put any weight on one of her legs. I had hoped she would be better this morning but she isn't.
Can't think of much else at the moment.
I don't Sean. Can't 'like' that Shad,do you know how she injured herself?
Thanks for the coffee.
Sounds like maybe she ran/flew into something, limb, tree trunk, wall, uh dunno know? If nothing's broke she'll most likely recover in the hospital or maternity unit as you call it.I don't Sean.
She was fine yesterday morning. She was here in the house for a bit with her tribe.
A couple of hours later I went to check the various tribes and she was limping along behind the others. The tribes rooster sort of hovered between her and the rest trying to keep an eye on her but eventually she just sat down. I watched for half an hour or so and it was apparent there was no way she was going to keep up with the rest so I put her in the maternity unit so she would be safe while I sorted out what needed to be done.
I checked her over yesterday and couldn't feel any breaks. I can't feel a dislocation anywhere either but I'm no expert. I gave her some Metacam and vitamins. She's eating fine, pooping fine, she's even grooming a bit but just can't stand for long. Her shoulder joint feels a little swollen and is a bit hotter than the other side.
I'll get her to my lovely vet after the holiday.
I think she may have either had a fight or run from something and pulled a tendon.Sounds like maybe she ran/flew into something, limb, tree trunk, wall, uh dunno know? If nothing's broke she'll most likely recover in the hospital or maternity unit as you call it.![]()
