Does the machine still work Cap?

DH used to have an old one like that (minus the decorative details on the front). When he decided to sell it, it went for a pretty penny.
Idk, not sure how to use it because i don't see a bobbin and it needs a drive belt.

Wow lots of chicks!! I was thinking of getting GLW and SLW cause they are so gorgeous but I’ve heard such mixed things, some people love them and others hate them and the negatives I’ve heard were enough to kind of turn me off them, but they are so gorgeous that I kinda wanna reconsider. Idk. Some people really love them. And what made you decide on the other leghorns over white? Looks?
I already have 2 white LHs.
I'm willing to take a chance with the wyandottes. It's not like I'll have a whole flock of them.

Same here! :love

Fear not! This is hopefully the last time I order or buy chicks. I should have enough fertile eggs and enough potentially broody girls to replenish layers hence forth. I don't mind having a flock of mutts.
I was going to ask if your rooster wasn't cutting it with regard to the gene furthering.

Oh. :hmm
Do you suppose that's what Shad meant? :D
2 SLWs, 1 GLW, 2 Welsummers, 3 EEs, 1 light brown LH, 1 Exchequer LH, 4 Mille Fleur d'uccles, 1 male blue Ameracauna "and a partridge in a pear tree".

Nice assortment!

You'll have to give me updates on how the partridge in a pear tree does for you, never had one before

Have you got room for all those?
I will when I renovate this fine structure.

Ah okay that makes sense. Do you like the leghorns? And that’s true!! I am sure they will be fine!! I didn’t mean to sound negative or bash the breed or whatever, a lot of people really like them!! They seem like a good breed. Just for me, I have a small flock and mostly pets but we are looking to add some more layers as our birds are 3 years old, and only have limited room, so for me I had to prioritize and narrow it down to the best layers and/or breeds I really want. One day I do really want to try Wyandottes but also because we have a small flock and have experience with bully hens, I didn’t really want more breeds that could potentially be bullies. A lot of people say that theirs are not, seems about 50/50, but I didn’t want to risk it. Which is disappointing as they are beautiful. But I think I am going to go with Partridge Rock, Speckled Sussex, Easter Egger, Delaware, and White Leghorn. That’s down from the 10 I had ha thinking of adding a New Hampshire Red back in too but idk. We current have 1 Barred Rock, 2 Black Australorps, 2 Buff Orpingtons (was 3), and 2 Easter Eggers. I really love the Rock and she is intelligent and a good layer so I want to try a different color Rock, really like the Partridge Color, and then I’ve been wanting to try Speckled Sussex for years, and the rest, we decided we wanted to try to mix up the egg colors so we know who is laying and we love having the green and blue eggs and personalities of our EEs so figured we’d add another one. Haven’t hit order yet. Might try to pick up some ISA Browns from TSC too when they get them in as they are supposed to be excellent layers but they have a minimum of 6 so idk.
