Ron my grandma had a lifelong connection to prunes, I think that's why the rest of us ignored them until the time we needed some.

Making cookies and my spaghetti sauce didn't go as planned. Guess I just cannot do two things at once - like breathing and anything else. Ground beef burned to the pan (not the first time) so that was out. Figured I'd just eat cookies.

Cookies came out okay except that they were roll up dough. I always had them chill overnight on the bottom shelf of refrigerator - first time they ever froze solid. Guess we had a different fridge when I last made them. However nothing else has ever frozen on that shelf before. Took quite awhile for them to thaw enough to slice them.

Didn't have any left over semi sweet morsels to drizzle over finished cookies, because I made a double recipe . So made a bad difference. Plus I guess we always made them with margarine since my mother long ago, decided butter would kill us. Mom passed away in '96 so we all went back to butter.

Stores out here are not selling Kerry Gold unsalted, so I had to buy store brand .Think the cookies were jinxed from the start. Have 4 more long rolls in the refrigerator while I decide if I want to bake them or toss them out.

Have some Breakstone sour cream left over - think I'll have them on bananas later. Used to do that as a kid. Long range memory is still holding up.

I'm okay, I had one pint of ice cream and almost feel as good as new - HA

Coffee is on the stove.
My enthusiasm for going shopping was short lived yesterday so I'll have to do it today.

Never mind. The sun is shining......
I wasn't going to do that any more was I.

We started work today on the rafter extensions on the shed to increase the eave overhangs. The roof (with decking) will be coming off so we started to loosen the deck from the rafters so we could get the sistered rafter extensions in between the decking and the wall top plates. I heard DH yelp and start cussing and I knew he'd hurt himself.

Well the wonder bar popped out from between the decking and rafter and hit him on the outside corner of his right eye. He had blood dripping down his face and the area under his eye had already started to swell and turn black. Eeep!

I am not good with dealing with injuries so I had to suck it up to take care of him. He's okay after we washed it, hit it with betadine and put some triple antibiotic ointment on the cut then iced the eye 20 min on/ 20 min off for the first 2 hours. 400 mg of ibuprofen and a maple walnut smoothie and he's now a happy camper. I did throw in a Medjool date for good measure!

I hope the rest of the shed to coop conversion goes better than today.

I hope you remembered to isolate him in a wire cage and don't forget the nutri drench.

I wasn't going to mention the Vetericyn I sprayed on him. I was going to break out the pine tar but I think I can resist pecking at it!

Dobie, hope your hubster's eye/face isn't too sore today. That was a close call, could have been a lot worse! Does that mean you've lost your help on the work force today?

Hard to say if I've lost my helper. I practically had to staple him to the chair to get him to relax last night while I took care of feeding everyone. I'll need help ripping the roof off and hoisting the OSB up onto the roof today.
