She is always trying to figure a way around "no". Don't bite...'what if I just nibble? ' don't chase the chickens 'what if I just walk behind them while they run away?', don't chew my stuff 'can I just taste it with my teeth?' We are in trouble! :lau

Just testing the boundaries Ma, just testing! :gig

Such a cute little troublemaker!!

OMG lol she sounds like a very smart little girl!! You are going to have your hands full for sure!! It is always the smart ones that plot and actively try to figure out what they can get away with and when LOL Libby is like that, very sweet dog and calm in the house and on leash, but she is always plotting something lol and Franklin is too sweet and honestly a little bit dumb to plot anything. :lau  he doesn’t know how to be bad LOL or at least he didn’t. Now that he is hitting his teenage phase and starting to do minor things. Not really “bad” per se but he does like chewing stuff. He has chewed a few things and him and Libby have also acted as a team a couple of times and gotten into stuff or we suspect Libby gets it for him cause she’s bigger and he eats it. Double trouble lol but when they are separated (Frank crated, he loves his crate), Libby just sleeps and doesn’t eat anything. So we’re not sure who’s idea it is lol but anyway, so that’s bad but also just normal puppy behavior, and he jumps all over me and barks at me (I’m not paying attention to him, not putting his harness on fast enough, etc. I try to ignore those behaviors lol) so that’s bad but the odd thing is that he only does that stuff with me. He doesn’t jump on other people. I think he just gets sooooo crazy excited to see me and he is a bit more of a hyper, anxious dog than Libby in some ways (though he also loves snuggling and just laying in his crate or bed), so I think that is part of it. And he is younger. The other thing is he is getting a little bit testy like he doesn’t always rocket back when called now when he used to come back so fast. But I think he is being influenced by Libby who has a bad recall (working on it) or maybe he is just starting to show the Pyrenees side ha so I have been working with all of that with him so he doesn’t become an obnoxious adult hah but besides that, he is really not “bad”, he listens extremely well and is so sweet and snuggly. While Libby used to be the terror, got into stuff sometimes, lunged towards dogs on leash (not aggressive, just got so excited and wanted to say hi), doesn’t listen, etc. and is always plotting something LOL BUT now she has gotten way better. She went for training in October and she really calmed down around dogs with that and a no pull harness for a few months before and after that and now she walks right next to me with no pulling just on a regular front clip harness, and is sooo good in the house and she loves learning tricks, she is super smart. So she is a very good girl. Just doesn’t always like coming when called lol but she has been getting better. But it’s just funny how different dogs can be but also how they can change and mature. Libby used to be a terror and now she’s so calm and good while Frank is super excitable, barking, jumping, pulling (he’s gotten better but still), etc. :lau dogs.:barnie

Sorry that was really long and random and I accidentally got way too detailed about FSIL’s dogs lol

But oh also Libby is so funny, when you tell her in the bed, sometimes she doesn’t want to be so after a few mins of being good she will slowly start to slide out and stretch her front down and out of the bed and leave her back legs in the bed or sometimes if she gets out far enough, just her back paws, or sometimes even just the paws barely touching the outside of the bed, and she’s like “technically I’m still in the bed” and you can’t be mad cause technically she IS and technically she never actually got up or broke position. :lau or sometimes she will creep backwards from the middle of the room and step up slowly backwards one paw at a time :lau one time she was laying down and they said it and she literally like army crawled all the way backwards, super slow, looking right at them, and kind of slipped/slid her legs up and onto the bed. :lau they said it was hysterical and they wish they had gotten a video of her doing it. :lau she loves to test. She is the queen of that LOL

This puppy is only 7 weeks old! She constantly pushes the limits. Pretends she doesn't hear us and will not take no for an answer. She is Frank and Libby rolled into one. I love her dearly, but she wears me out!

Oh wow!! That much personality and that testy that young, she might be a handful!! LOL I think some of that is the Pyrenees though, Gator didn’t used to take no for an answer too. Sometimes you would say it and you could see him stop to think about it and then sometimes he stopped, sometimes he said nahhhh screw that (and you) and did it anyway!! :lau I always said there was no “no” with him or simple obedience, he was a thinker, and everything was a negotiation. :lau you could not force him to do something if he didn’t want to do it and he had to think it was his idea. :lau and usually there had to be something in it for him to make it worth his while LOL Libby is somewhat the same way except she hates to be told no or get in trouble so she usually feels super bad afterwards lol Gator was somewhat like that too, so sensitive hah and Franklin is just so sweet and cute and submissive you can’t yell at him, you can barely even tell him no, he melts lol although lately he just sasses me and barks back at me when I tell him no :lau Gator used to do similar. Especially when you told him he couldn’t go somewhere. He would snap the air playfully/sassy like and scoot backwards and get so offended. :lau sorry I keep going to our dogs and away from yours lol don’t mean to, I just keep thinking of stories. I think a lot of it is the Pyrenees. Even though they are vastly different breed makeups, Frank, Libby, and Gator are all Pyrenees mixes. Gator was half Great Pyrenees and half Black Lab; Libby is supposedly 37.5% Great Pyrenees, 25% Lab, 12.5% Boxer, and 25% unknown; Franklin is also 37.5% Great Pyrenees I think, 12.5% something else, I think it was 12.5% Chow Chow, and then like 37% unknown I think it was, but I can’t remember, I think there were some other breeds in there, I think he might possibly have had Lab too, not sure. But I don’t buy that they are both the exact same percentage of Pyrenees. They got the Wisdom one which is supposed to be pretty accurate but idk, seems odd to me. But the really super accurate university one is like $200 and also tests for a bunch of genetic diseases so they aren’t going to do that one probably because that’s a lot of money. But I will have to ask what the exact mix for him is, I forget. But the unknown part said herding or sporting breed so we think he is part Aussie, he acts a lot like one, and then possibly like Retriever or Setter due to his markings. Libby’s unknown was herding or companion or toy or something like that. So we think hers is Border Collie because she is super super smart, she does the collie walk/stalk, and has the intense stare lol plus the rescue had originally said Pyrenees/Border Collie but we thought maybe it was just because of her coloring. But it’s funny because even though they are both Pyrenees mixes, Libby acts a lot like a Boxer like in play and stuff but does have the stubbornness of the Pyrenees and wanderer tendencies while Frank is the sweetest, most obedient boy. It is odd. I guess genetics are a funny thing ha it will be interesting to see how your girl turns out

Oh my word, we are slap in the middle of allergy season! Pine,Sycamore, grass...you name it. I have the worst allergy symptoms here. Unbelievable!
Accuweather has an article with an allergy map. The East coast is red! That is the worst level.

We are a bit behind on that

Found my posts about it on another thread. Apparently he does have Lab too. Those Labs and Great Pyrenees sure get around. :lau

FRANKLIN’s DNA RESULTS ARE IN!!! FRANKLIN’S DNA RESULTS ARE IN!!! FRANKLIN’S DNA RESULTS ARE IN!!!! :celebrate:wee:ya:woot:clap

FSIL texted me at like 7, though I didn’t wake up till around 10 to 10, and said it, but said she will wait LOL we are all getting brunch at 11 so I think they will reveal it then. :fl I was saying thanks and it must be impossible and she said DB already tried to sneak a look and she chased him away and he was unsuccessful :lau I can see how it must be impossible, they are like their kids, and he LOVES Franklin lol though he loves them both.

Here are the results! :D

Although Chow Chow was really surprising and I am not sure I believe it. Also a huge portion unidentifiable. But their sample also wasn’t the best, like not for the full time frame, cause he wouldn’t let her do it/hated it, but I guess they found something. But I also find it a little suspicious it’s the same exact percentages as Libby for parts. They are different dogs. You would think the percentages would vary a little bit. Like they are both supposedly 37.5% Great Pyrenees and 12.5% something else (for Libby it’s Boxer, for Franklin it’s Chow Chow), and then Libby is 25% Lab and 25% unknown, so the Lab and Unknown bit is slightly different but I find it odd the main breeds are exact same, like exactly 37.5% and exactly 12.5% but idk. Wisdom is supposed to be one of the most accurate ones though, there are some that are not very accurate at all. The next most accurate is Embark which also tests for like 200 genetic diseases, which would be nice to know but not really necessary, and supposedly uses a lot more genetic markers (so more accurate), and it is a university that does it, but that one is like $200 so I don’t think they’ll do that one. But it would be nice to see if they both say the same thing and find out the unknown bit. Anyway, supposedly the test only goes to great great grandparents so the unknown is great great great grandparents. We thought for sure he would be like Aussie, Collie, or setter or Golden or something. But maybe that is what the unknown is. A little disappointing there is so much unknown on his.
