Where are your grandparents from? I make traditional Comanche knee length moccasin/leggings and regular moccasins.

My dads side is German and Swiss. Moms side is Irish and Italian.

I am trying to talk myself into raising meat rabbits. Anyone here have experience?

Get quality animals rather than crosses. Costs the same to raise and you should be able to charge more for babies.

Yeah, not selling babies. This is all for our personal consumption and for pelts and rabbit feet. I plan on getting New Zeland whites as their fur is easiest to dye.

I had one yapping all evening in the bator, i thought he would go to sleep with the lights out. No luck. At 2:30 i got up and took him in the bathroom. He wasn't lonely, there were 3 others with him and he just hatched. What a pill!

When chicks chirp like that, I give them a vitamin drop. I do not know about quail though

Finished the front framing, moved the cleanout doors on the front and re-installed the sheathing. Still need to cut and install the sheathing over the cleanout doors.

Installed the FREE steel entrance door I snagged off someone's curb on garbage day (SCORE!). My back is sore again (why couldn't I have found a free fiberglass door instead?). I think I'll have a nice hot shower and a cup of fresh brewed ginger tea with honey.
Other than the splinter I drove under my fingernail, it was a great day!

Today is poop board construction day while DH starts cleaning the underside of the roof deck and walls to prep for painting next week.

I make traditional plains moccasins, mainly Comanche. I make my own rawhide for the soles.

I thought I was half German. I am not! Only about 17%. The rest is Irish and British
